Introduction and Agreement to Terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Kemble, a life planning and financial clarity application for couples (“the App”, “the Service”). Please read these Terms carefully before using Kemble.
By downloading, registering for, or using Kemble, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Kemble is operated by Eleks UK Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company incorporated in England and Wales. For BETA enquiries, contact us at team@kembleapp.co.uk
The Service
Kemble is a life planning and financial clarity platform designed to help couples understand their financial position, explore shared goals, and make progress together. The Service includes:
• an individual planning canvas (“Individual Canvas”) visible only to you;
• a shared household canvas (“Household Canvas”) created and updated by deliberate mutual action;
• a conversational interface (“The Ruled Page”) for exploring goals and life decisions;
• AI-generated suggestions, summaries, and prompts to support planning; and
• connections to regulated third-party financial services partners where relevant and where you have given consent.
Kemble is a planning and clarity tool. It does not provide regulated financial advice. Nothing in the App constitutes a personal recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product. Where regulated advice is required, we will connect you with an appropriately authorised partner.
Eligibility and Registration
To use Kemble you must:
• be 18 years of age or older;
• be resident in the United Kingdom;
• provide accurate and complete information when creating your account; and
• not have previously been suspended or removed from the Service.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at team@kembleapp.co.uk if you believe your account has been compromised.
Household Accounts and Shared Data
Kemble is designed for use by couples. Where you choose to connect with a partner to form a Household Account:
• both users must independently accept these Terms;
• information is shared between household members only when one partner deliberately initiates a “Household Push” and the other responds;
• each partner retains a private Individual Canvas that is never shared without explicit action; and
• either partner may disconnect from the Household Account at any time via account settings.
We are not responsible for disputes between household members arising from information shared within the App. We recommend both partners review the Privacy Policy to understand how their data is processed.
AI-Powered Features
Kemble uses artificial intelligence, including large language models provided via Amazon Web Services and Anthropic, to power planning suggestions, conversational prompts, and financial clarity features.
You acknowledge and agree that:
• AI-generated content is for planning and informational purposes only and does not constitute advice;
• AI outputs may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or not appropriate to your personal circumstances;
• you should not make significant financial or life decisions based solely on AI-generated content in the App;
• we continually improve our AI systems and outputs may change over time; and
• where AI outputs reference third-party financial products, this is not an endorsement or recommendation.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Kemble only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
• provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information;
• attempt to access another user’s account or private data;
• use the App to harass, abuse, or harm another person;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the App;
• use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service;
• upload or transmit viruses, malicious code, or any content designed to disrupt the Service; or
• use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have breached this section.
Intellectual Property
The Kemble name, logo, brand identity, and all content, software, and technology within the App are protected by intellectual property rights owned by Beccy Robinson. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
You retain ownership of any personal information and content you provide to the App. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to use that information to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy sets out in full how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data. By using Kemble you confirm that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Key points:
• your Individual Canvas data is private and never shared without your explicit action;
• your data is stored securely on AWS infrastructure located in the UK or European Economic Area;
• we use a small number of trusted sub-processors, including Anthropic (AI processing), Amplitude (analytics), and AWS (infrastructure); and
• you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, and portability — contact team@kembleapp.co.uk to exercise these rights.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
• Kemble is provided “as is” and we make no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose;
• we are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from your use of the App;
• our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Service shall not exceed the greater of £50 or the total subscription fees you have paid in the preceding 12 months; and
• nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any information in the App. You use the Service and act on any information at your own risk.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify you via the App or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to updated Terms, you may close your account before they take effect.
Suspension and Termination
You may close your account at any time via account settings. On closure, we will delete or anonymise your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable retention obligations.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Kemble if:
• you breach these Terms;
• we are required to do so by law or a regulatory authority; or
• we cease to offer the Service.
Where we terminate your account for reasons other than breach, we will give you reasonable notice and a proportionate refund of any prepaid subscription fees.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We are committed to resolving disputes fairly. If you have a complaint, please contact us at team@kembleapp.co.uk if we cannot resolve your complaint directly, you may refer it to an appropriate alternative dispute resolution body.
General
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Kemble App Ltd in relation to the Service and supersede any previous agreements.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms to a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or restructuring, provided your rights are not materially affected.
